Michael Cline, the visionary co-founder of Fandango, the online ticketing service that transformed the movie-going experience for Americans, died in an apparent suicide in Manhattan on Tuesday.

Cline, 64, was found unconscious and unresponsive at the Kimberly Hotel on Tuesday morning. According to law enforcement sources, he jumped to his death from his hotel room.

Cline, a serial entrepreneur, founded Fandango in 2000. The company became a major player in the movie-ticketing industry, allowing moviegoers to purchase tickets online or through mobile apps.
